Nah, only in my drunken fantasies lol!

I'm not a violent person, but I'm not averse to having him believe it's an option.

Maybe not. As I leave my home, I have to climb a few steps to reach the road and I'm used to seeing various old armchairs and sofas, which change on a daily basis or even during the day, with at least one guy with a weapon, which also changes, but when I went to the shop this morning there were no chairs and no people. It was deserted for the first time since I've moved here.  Further up the road, I noticed a number of guys holding double lengths of thick bamboo (home made weapons?) with one with a balaclava over his face and a definite tension in the air. As I passed one guy I have had dealings with, he said that there were many police around, gringo.

I made my purchases and returned to my place and a short time later, heard something a little less intense than this:

The first shots were very deep and bassy and I suspect they came from these unknown bamboo weapons. I've tried searching to discover what these are, but have uncovered nothing similar on the web.

Why don't you move away from that particular area? That's what I did...

You lived somewhere similar? affraid

At the moment it's a question of money vs amenities. To find somewhere else for the same price, I'd have to share a room with 4 other people and the rest of the house or apartment with more; Here I have my independence and privacy and I'm not really worried about being caught in the crossfire and the bandits have no reason to shoot me and many not to.

Yes, I lived somewhere similar.  After my mother lied, manipulated and caused me to lose my nice quiet country home on 2 acres that I had $140K invested in, thereby forcing me to move in with her in the 2nd most dangerous city in the US.

Where's that freaking couch?

Damn Sarah! Your Mom must be really something! Get thee back to the countryside, girl....

YM, your new home sounds exciting, not sure if that's bad or good. Hope you're all healed up from the pneumonia. That shit kills old people, but of course we are young forever.

So, I bought a stove yesterday, well. paid half. Today, I paid the rest and asked for it to be delivered. How was it delivered? On some cunt's back. The price was R$15 (about $45), I gave R$50 cos i'm a softy and the dude gave me some coke!

People ask why I live here!

Ok, so I now have a stove (the gas cost twice the price of the stove), so why am I so happy? Because now I can make coffee! Who gives a fuck that I'm an international chef, without a well brewed coffee in the morning, life has no meaning!

So why didn't I just make a rocket stove?
Good question and one I don't have an answer to.
